Argentina takes lead over Serbia after first singles match
Argentina leads over Serbia 1-0 after the first singles match at the ARAG WORLD TEAM CUP. “Gaucho” Juan Monaco won in two sets (6-4, 7-6) in a close match against Janko Tipsarevic. Tipsarevic fended off four match balls before losing. The Serbs, who are participating in the ARAG WORLD TEAM CUP for the first time, will have to win the second singles as well as the doubles match in order to win the international cup. They are still waiting for their double specialist, Nenad Zimonjic, who won the doubles in Madrid on Sunday, whereas the Argentineans are still waiting for their top ten player, Juan Martin del Potro, who lost the semis in Madrid.
